The running of The Elsie's Bar was taken over from Elsie Wicki in 1984 by Uschi and Arthur Scherer.

The Family Scherer took ownership of the bar in 1998 and in 2000 it underwent a stylish and sympathic refurbisment. In November 2005 The Elsie's Bar was given to the 2nd generation of the Family Scherer.
